Full Biography

Canadian dark wave (new wave/post-punk) duo Concavity creates nostalgic beds of dark addictive rhythms with sad, lilting synths and guitar melodies that intertwine with an overall grim demeanour. These are songs of grief, pain, pessimism, sex, violence, and regret… songs that speak of their experience.

The embers of romantic flame faded. Cold, winter nights spent alone and hopeless. Two lives filled with the turmoil of breakups, mental distress, anxiety and feeling lost. But in despair can be found hope and inspiration.

From a mutual yearning to create, the collaboration between Babette de Jong (vocals, guitar) and Graham Bucci (vocals, electronics) forged a new kindling between one another and their song. Through self-reflection, healing, determination, and with support, Concavity have grown into their own unique, alluring dark style. After multiple successful self-directed music videos on a budget, 2 EPs and multiple singles, Concavity are elevated to dedicate themselves to working on their first full-length album and their first Canadian tour in 2023 to take the project to a wider audience beyond their hometown of Hamilton, Ontario & the GTA.
